From the entertainment and home theater seating perspective, the first two decades of product design were limited to the standard, overstuffed, high-backed theater seat, which in many instances ended up being an absolute eyesore. Some products actually integrated recline capability into a “family room” type product that was able to be conjoined to create a row of seating . It wasn’t until the later part of 1990’s that purpose-built, entertainment seating companies began to explore the possibilities of offering a higher quality, proprietary cinema seating product integrating technology for the consumer.

Due to the significantly more demanding immersive audio environments, controlling the height of the headrest to facilitate three-dimensional audio playback has become important for critical listening . These initial and subsequent designs provide a solution that allows the designer to choose a product that could be used in any common area in the home as a standard low-backed sofa, loveseat or chair. When you add motorization that allows a sofa to control the vertical back-rest height, incline, footrest and articulating headrest, this provides an entirely new level of customization to the modular sofa and creates an entirely new approach to cinema or media room seating.
Another current evolution in media rooms and entertainment spaces is the demand for work-out areas, gaming, business-related conferencing technology and live performances. CINEAK has seating products that specifically address all of these while providing a superior product for the end user.
