Project Technology Assessment - For Architects and Interior Designers

When your clients’ technology systems are planned for early in your design process, the home's technology will be blended into the decor in a much more aesthetically pleasing way. Change orders and project delays due to delayed technology decisions will be greatly minimized or eliminated.

Engage a qualified home technology integrator* as early as possible, ideally during the schematic design phase. Advanced technology integrators have a technology consulting, design, and engineering phase and will collaborate with you to help ensure the home’s technology systems work with your design aesthetic. Beyond aesthetics, an integrator’s consulting and design services include space planning for specialized rooms such as home theater and media rooms. This also includes defining critical technology system needs such as electrical and HVAC requirements and where equipment racks should be located.

How to plan for your clients' technology needs:

  1. Download the Project Technology Assessment form by clicking the image below. It is a fillable PDF form you can send your clients or print out.
  2. Share the form with an HTA Certified integrator for technology consultation and to obtain a tailored proposal (use the HTA Certified integrator finder here).

If you proactively plan for your client's technology needs, set yourself apart by opting into the free 'HTA Technology Partner' program described here. If you want us to include your company logo on this form, please request one through our contact form.

* The term 'home technology integrator' is the modern name for the low-voltage professionals that install smart home, audio video, and other technologies, as shown on the Project Technology Assessment form.
